Why We Created Chrisoft:
A Personal Journey Behind Our Magnesium Soothing Body Cream
There is a difference between making a product and creating something because you personally need it.
For me, Chrisoft was never just another body cream.
It came from my own experience with physical discomfort, recovery, sensitive skin, and the constant search for something that could become part of my daily self-care routine.
I wanted to understand exactly what I was putting on my body.
That meant learning about botanicals, extracting our own plant ingredients, infusing oils, carefully selecting our supporting ingredients, and developing formulations with intention.
I did not want to simply buy a pre-made ingredient, put it into a jar, and call it natural.
I wanted to know what was going into my products and why.
Why Magnesium Chloride?
Magnesium chloride became one of the important ingredients in our formulations because of its role in our approach to soothing and body care.
We developed our own method for creating our magnesium solution because we wanted control over the concentration and formulation.
For us, formulation is about understanding every part of the product.
Magnesium is involved in many processes in the body, including normal muscle and nerve function. Topical magnesium products are commonly used as part of personal care routines for muscles and everyday body comfort, although research on how much magnesium is absorbed through the skin and how effective topical magnesium is for specific conditions is still limited.
That is why we prefer to describe Chrisoft as a soothing body cream for everyday comfort, rather than making promises that a cosmetic product can treat or cure a medical condition.
Why So Many Botanicals?
This is where our formulation becomes different.
Chrisoft includes botanicals selected because of their traditional uses and their soothing, conditioning, antioxidant, or comforting properties.
Our formulation includes ingredients such as:
White willow bark
White willow contains salicin, a compound historically associated with the development of aspirin. Willow bark has a long history of traditional use for discomfort and inflammation, although the evidence for different uses varies.
Calendula
Calendula is traditionally valued for soothing and conditioning the skin, particularly when the skin feels dry, irritated, or stressed.
Chamomile
Chamomile is known for its calming botanical properties and is often used in skincare designed for sensitive or irritated-feeling skin.
Arnica
Arnica is traditionally used in topical preparations intended to soothe areas affected by minor bumps, bruising, or localized muscle discomfort. It should not be applied to broken skin.
Plantain leaf
Plantain leaf has a long history in traditional herbal skin care and is valued for its soothing and skin-conditioning properties.
Comfrey
Comfrey has traditionally been used in topical preparations for skin and body care. Because certain comfrey preparations can contain compounds associated with liver toxicity, formulation quality and appropriate external use are especially important.
Cayenne
Cayenne contains capsaicin, which interacts with sensory nerve receptors. Carefully formulated topical capsaicin products have been studied for certain types of pain. Raw cayenne powder, however, is not something that should simply be applied to the skin because concentrated capsaicin can cause significant burning and irritation.
Devil's claw
Devil's claw has a history of use in herbal preparations for body discomfort and stiffness. Research suggests it may have modest benefits for some types of musculoskeletal discomfort, although much of the evidence relates to oral preparations rather than our topical formulation.
Each ingredient has a purpose.
And that is exactly how we approach formulation.
This Is Why We Infuse Our Oils
We also infuse our oils because I wanted to work with the plants in a more intentional way.
For me, it is about creating a formulation with multiple botanical components rather than relying on one single ingredient.
I wanted more than something that simply felt good when applied.
I wanted to create something that made sense as part of my own daily body-care routine.
Because I am the person who uses these products, I ask myself a simple question:
Would I want this on my own body every day?
If the answer is no, it does not belong in our formulation.
Why Mango Butter?
Mango butter is another ingredient I personally love.
I wanted a rich butter that gives the skin a comfortable, moisturized feeling without the heavy sensation I associate with some other butters.
And honestly?
I also don't love the smell of shea butter.
So mango butter became a personal favorite.
It gives Chrisoft a luxurious texture while helping condition and moisturize the skin.
More Than a Cream
Chrisoft represents something bigger than a list of ingredients.
It represents my belief that people deserve to know what they are putting on their bodies.
That is why we want to talk about our ingredients.
That is why we explain our processes.
That is why we make our own extracts and infusions.
And that is why we continue learning.
MYJ OrganYKZ was made with purpose because it was created from experience.
This is not about claiming that one cream can fix everything.
It is about creating thoughtfully formulated products that can become part of someone's personal wellness and self-care routine.
And for me, that is where Chrisoft begins.
