Why We Make Our Own Glycerites and Infused Oils

When you look at a skincare ingredient list, you might recognize some of the plant names.

Calendula.

Chamomile.

Plantain.

Comfrey.

Cat's claw.

But you may not realize that there is another important question:

How did those plant compounds get into the product?

For MYJ OrganYKZ, the extraction process matters almost as much as the plant itself.

That is why we began making our own glycerites and infusing our own oils.

Why Glycerites?

One of the biggest reasons is simple:

We wanted more control.

I have very sensitive skin, and alcohol-based extracts can be irritating for me.

Instead of accepting that as the only option, we started experimenting with glycerites.

A glycerite is a botanical extraction that uses glycerin as the extraction medium instead of relying on alcohol.

For us, this became part of our philosophy:

Know what goes into the product. Control what we can control. Formulate with intention.

I like being able to calculate and understand what we are putting into our formulations.

That control is important to us because MYJ is not about throwing a long list of ingredients into a bottle and hoping for the best.

We want every ingredient to have a reason for being there.

Why Infused Oils?

We take the same approach with our oils.

We infuse oils with selected botanicals because we want to incorporate the plant's oil-compatible components into our formulations.

It is another way of building a formula intentionally.

For me, this is personal.

I wanted formulations that I could understand, use, and continue improving based on my own experience.

I often tell people:

I need real results in my own body.

That does not mean promising that our products treat or cure medical conditions.

It means that I personally want to know how a product feels, how it performs as part of my routine, and whether I would continue reaching for it.

Why This Takes More Work

Handcrafted formulation takes time.

There is the plant material.

There is the extraction process.

There are the oils.

There are the calculations.

There are the supporting ingredients.

There is testing the texture and consistency.

There is making sure ingredients work together.

And there is learning from every batch.

That is very different from simply purchasing a finished base and adding a fragrance.

When you understand the process, you begin to understand why a handcrafted product may cost more.

You are not only paying for what is inside the jar.

You are paying for the time, formulation work, ingredients, preparation, experimentation, and attention behind it.

Why We Want Customers to Know

People deserve to understand what they are putting on their skin.

That is why we want our website to be educational.

We want you to be able to click on an ingredient and understand:

Why is it there?

What does it contribute?

Why did we choose it?

How does it fit into the formulation?

That is part of our promise at MYJ OrganYKZ.

We are not interested in hiding behind complicated ingredient names.

We want to open the conversation.

Because when you understand the ingredients, you understand the product.

And when you understand the process, you understand the purpose.

Made with Conscience.

In God We Trust. United As One People.
